I finally got the engine, shaft, rudder installed, all lined up and buttoned down. The engine turns easily, no binding on the shaft, the outboard bearing including the water-stop done, and the rudder and the show that supports it, done.
Next steps are the gas tank, ignition box and rudder rope system and I might just be ready to get 'er wet.

That's a beautiful old hull. Is that your actual rudder or just mock-up/test piece?

That is in fact the original rudder except for the new stainless steel bolts and the new paint.
