Anticipating a long Michigan winter, I'm starting to think about investigating the possibility of beginning a potential boatbuilding project - maybe ...

I have a six HP Universal Fisherman (WM or WMG, I think) that I got at an estate auction. My question is: What hull to put it in?

I'm thinking along the lines of a 18-20 foot Fantail Launch. Perhaps stitch 'n' glue plywood (for speed of construction, since I really don't have a good space for building.) Or, maybe a small workboat (baby tug, etc.) Shallow draft would be desireable.

Any ideas, pointers, links to previous projects?

Thanks!
Mark
