Early DuBrie
Somewhere I have information on this engine. When I find it I will scan it and post.
It is tiny flywheel is 9 inches
Good compression and complete original, I think.
I suspect it will run.

Very smart looking engine. Really like the looks of the ignition timing. Is that some kind of advance retard lever on there? Thanks for posting.

Yes, cute little unit that. A good wipe down and some boiled linseed oil to bring up the paint?

Yes the timing advance and retard is the lever on the aft end of the crankshaft.
And no intent to paint it just clean it up as you suggest. I found the info on it and need to replace the primer on top of the mixer with an oiler.

Scans of info from Cycle and Automobile Trade Journal ca 1905.
I have this info as a PDF however this is the best quality I could do with my scanner in the JPEG mode.

Stanley DuBrie is one of a rare few early engine designers and mfgrs that his history deserves a Book wriiten of his life !

He graduated engineering school 1896 and sold his fisrt marine eng in the same year !That Company was sold and by 1900 he designed an automobile engine for Charles Beck Mfgring Co.Of Penetang,Ontario.
