just posting to see if anyone has any knowledge etc of the above engines. I own 'CARETTA' a twin screw motor yacht born in 1898. She has two DB2's called 'samson' and 'deliahla'. She is on the UK's national historic ship register. I am just trying to get some contacts for future refernce. At the moent her engines have been maintained to a very high standard and start every time. However in future some help may be needed to keep this lovely lady's heart beating.

If your engines are sea water cooled the most important measure will be to ensure that they never 'dry out'. Changing to a closed system using straight anti-freeze would be advisable in the long term. I have a DB2 myself, but it needs some TLC. The clutch is a Heath Robinson affair with cast iron 'discs' that are expected to flex when engaging the clutch. Something cast iron does only reluctantly and then under protest! I'm sure you have manuals, but if not, www.internalfire.com does.
