I forgot to add, this is the first use of the term 'chic' I have ever seen, and in relation to an engine no less.

Here in Australia we certainly would not own one . Nice units .!
I particularly like your reference to 'chic' and also note 'nifty' . Highlighted but probably trendy for the time .

Are there many/any of these still around? Any pictures out there?

It sure would be awful pretty setting in the bottom of a cedar canoe with all that bronze sparkling.
