Posted for Dick Day Tom Risch sent me these asking for help. No question when piston came up it would hit the insulated contact inside the cylinder but I am not sure of his lash up and if that is plastic tape I doubt it would last the first explosion. What is needed are pictures of the complete igniter set up. He also was not aware he needed a check valve between the carb and the crankcase intake. Hope someone has one of the engines so we can see what the entire igniter looked like. Why the spark plug I cannot guess. Probably just plugging the hole. Regards, Dick

This ignitor looks like a Tuttle I saw apart a few years ago. The engine is local and I will attempt to get pics. |
