Hugh, I'm working on a 2 cylinder 4 stroke with atmospheric intakes, when throttled down to an idle it would only run on one cylinder. I'm making an oversize valve for one of the intakes, it was .015" loose. When the throttle was closed and vacuum was high it would take air around the valve stem, no fuel. If idled up it would run away on two cylinders, This article tells me I'm on the right track.
