Note the double water inlets on the pump. I have one and One could be used as a bilge pump. There is a valve handle on each one that you can turn down and it holds the inlet check valve closed. This ad is from 1908

Here are some pics of mine. Robert put them together and posted them on another thresd a while back. Note all of the brass and copper (even the schebler carb)are nickel. I believe this was what they called "salt water" fittings
