The engine plate says;
----------------------------------------------
Ruston & Hornsby Ltd.
MARK 4VROM
FULL LOAD 1000 RPM
NO LOAD MAX 1060 RPM
ENGINE No. 237011
Made in England
Lincoln England
-------------------------------------------------
This is a heavy duty four cyl. diesel with built in starter and gear driven generator. Has a heavy duty looking gear. Nice looking at one time. Complete and ultimately restorable. Any one know about these engines? How about you guys in the UK. This engine was removed from a utility work boat in Vancouver B.C
............Thanks from Joe............

Try:
www.internalfire.com
This is an excellent site for the "Internal Fire Museum of Power" in the UK dedicated to all sorts of the heavier kind of engine.
The team have engines from all over the UK and have got them back to operational order. There are short video clips of a number of them being coaxed back to life!

Ray Hooley in the UK is the man for all things Ruston Hornsby. You can contact him through the UK stationary engine forum I believe.
