Does anyone know where I can buy parts for a Caterpillar D-236. I need Injector pumps & nozzles.
This engine is on a working tug in Grenada. The boat started life in Canada as coastal fisheries patrol and is used as a commercial diving tug. It was commissioned in 1956.

sailmaster,

Do you get Boats and Harbors (yellow) magazine/newspaper? They have a lot of ads for companies that sell parts for older diesels, CAT and others. A lot of those companies are not online.

Hey Sailmaster! You should be sewing sails, not messing around in the engine room!
Check out "fpsmitheq.com" in calif, just north of S Fran. They have lots of old cat parts, and have links with a lot of other people.

I agree that I should be sailing, but working on boats of all kinds pays for me to keep sailing around the world. Currently my boat and I are in Grenada. Thanks for the contacts. If you find yourself in Grenada in the next year or so give me a call on channel 68. The boat is S/V "Stephanie Lynn". (Endeavor 51).
Cheers

Try the web site for Antique Caterpillar Machinery Owners Club. The marine engines are the same as the tractor engines as far as the short block goes and there's guys watching the board who know all of the configurations of Cat engines. I don't know the D236 personally but I think it is the block for a D4 tractor.
