Hi

New to the forum, and loking for some help. Don't know if this is an old enough engine but have been told it is. We have a Leyland 498 TD is our boat which we have just purchased and it is miles too big. We don't know exactly what size is it, and thats what I was after help with. Would there be a way or would anybody know what it is?

Also, we were looking at replacing it with a 2.52 if it is 60hp, again, how would i find this out?

Trying to list the engine to sell is proving a nightmare as we don't really know what it is

Any help would be very much appreciated

Hi
Quite an usual tractor engine you've got there. Built and sold in 100.000 or more a year in the '70s. It's 62 hp or so depending on fueling. Probably is a 4/98 DT, meaning Derated Tractor.
You can sell it, try throung the tractor club associated with these tractors:
