10 years ago I replaced maybe 10-12 ft of 1.5" cast iron exhaust pipe with 304 SS pipe ( got it at a junk yard). The only problem is that at the entry point into the cast iron Sabb 2H exhaust, the iron flange that a SS nipple screws into, has rotted and rotted the two stud bolts. The original OEM parts - the nipple and stud bolts calls for SS.

I am thinking that I need a sacrificial component in the exhaust system. I need a pipe union in this system near the engine so maybe that will be cast iron.
