I have a Volvo MD1 that does not have a water temp or oil temp meters (it does have an oil pressure gauge). I would like to add temp gauges but there is no place for senders. The water drain plug is in a place that will not allow for a sender. I could drill and tap a fitting in the head or block, but scared to do so. Any suggestions?

Glowell,

You can install a fitting for a water temperature gauge at the point shown on the picture below.

Oil temperature gauge shouldn't be neccessary on this engine, oil will run cooler than the engine.
