I have rebuilt an RJ2 from a box of parts , however I am short of a head gasket, does anyone know of a source for an original? My engine is thought to have been built in 1949 , it will run but is losing water from the gasket. I have found this site most informative and was lucky enough to find another member with an RJ2 only 15 miles from me. thanks in advance Neville. |

Hi Neville and others, I'm also a proud owner of an old Thornycroft and a Queen Mary lifeboat. The motor still intact needs to be rebuild to be sure everything is in place.. |

I,m back with another Thornycroft, this an RJ1 diesel marine, I first heard about it over ten years ago but did,nt actually see it until it came up on EBay, I bought it and it now runs again, you can see it on YouTube if you search for Thornycroft RJ1 |

I have 6 Thornycroft RJ/2 engines from the Queen Mary Lifeboats. 3 are as they were removed and 3 have been disassembled and have restoration work started. I am looking for any documentation that is available, like parts list, operator manuals etc. |
