Performance upgrade for 109?

First thing that comes to mind is a soft turbo or supercharger� any one hear of this done? Not sure what can be done on ports and valves, anyone know. Also stronger rods? Anyone know? Theme on this boat is to build pre V8 �hot boat� of the early 50s. I�ll be restoring the hull and strenthening too. The original hull has had a hard life but will see. Might just build a new and improved Higgins.
