I moved into a house and in the garage there was a marine engine. After looking at it i found that on it it said "kermath" on it. It also says " 12hp 4 cycle 4 cyl marine engine". Can anyone help me to get some info on it.

Robert,

Does it state any "model number" or "model name" on the nameplate?

That's probably a serial number.

I don't see anything in my lists that would be 12HP and 4 cylinder.

Maybe someone else can find something on it.

Can you post a picture? Instructions at the help link above and/or Ernies post about pictures.

Wasn't aware that Kermath made a 4 cyl 12hp engine, but this 1930 Catalog mentions it.
Also says 20 yrs making engines ? I believe that in 1910 the Morton Motor Co. made Kermaths and around 1924 Kermath Manufacturing Co.came into being ?

I have quite a bit of Kermath info. The earliest dated material I have showing the 20hp is 1924. I had a 2 cylinder Kermath like the one pictured that I restored was from earlier than 1924 I thought. If you would like some copies of the info let me know.2 cylinder Kermath 4-5
