Hi All,
Just wondering what most use for mixing oil. I for a number of years have been using two stroke outboard motor oil at one pint to 4 gallons of regular gas. The engine has been running great with this oil, igniter fouling is minimal and the engine fires up first pull when properly primed.

Generally speaking, use what works.
I think you've got it about right.
I switched to the so-called smokeless oil, because SWMBO didn't like the plume of blue smoke - more cosmetic than anything else.

Personally, I use regular SAE 30 motor oil, mixed at 30:1, with no problems at all.

30 W non detergent 16 to 1 in my Gray U
A slight blue plume behind the boat but it's also what I use in my old outboards and has never let me down.
My 2 cents worth 30 to 1 is too lean as my chain saw uses 32 to 1 and I have had problems with that ratio on other old engines.
