Here are some pics of a big Caile that is for sale on Harrys. It appears the engine is located in CO.
I would guess it to be in the 4 to 5 hp range.
Note it is missing the water pump strap and piston. Otherwise it looks like a good engine.

I know these photos were posted a few years back but I wanted to add my two cents worth. I'm fairly sure that this engine is a Sandow stationary farm engine manufactured by Detroit Motor Car Supply Co. DMCSC would take one of their marine engines and add wood skids with a outboard bearing, pulley and a small water tank and call it a stationary farm engine. I have an original Sandow parts catalog that shows this same style exhaust manifold, intake manifold, cylinder, timer, etc... The green paint on the engine and the wood skids is the same color as the sandows were painted. Also the larger Sandows and Detroit marine engines had a nut on the flywheel rather then using a gibb key.

DEW & DMCSC (Sandow) also manufactured this same style engine as Caille. However Sandow was more known for making stationary farm engines from their marine engines by adding a special wood skid with an outboard bearing and pulley just like the one in the photo. I guess it is possible that Caille could have did the same. Who knows for sure who made what. The attached sketch is of a DEW marine engine just like the one in the photos.

Searcher, That is the same Caille that has been for sale on Harry's classifieds for the past few month's for $400. To bad it is missing the exhaust manifold. I guess it would not be to difficult to have one cast but probably not cheap.
