I received my Watkins castings today, satisfied with the results. I sent several pumps and straps to the foundry, just filled them in and made follow boards for them, had them poured solid, no core. The Watkins pump was a little more complicated, the water comes around the inlet check and there was a outlet port that spilled over, really needed a core to do it right. This is my first attempt at a complicated core, I did one for a piston, but it was more forgiving. The Watkins was fairly delicate, but it seems to be OK, will know for sure after machining. |

* J.B. The pumps look great, I'm fascinated with the making of patterns and core casting, work like this is why I brag that I know you ! * |

Looks great J.B. looking forward to getting the one you had cast for me. Thanks for your effort. I am sitting here, checking the internet, while waiting for the snow to stop. This area is pretty much shut down. Had 24" over the weekend and about 14" since last evening, and its not done yet. I was planning on leaving today to go to NY to look at a Long Deck Launch, but had to cancel. Richard, we have what we call a Sun Room, but unlike you, we are not looking at Palm trees and sand.

* Keith, That is a Christmas card perfect scene you look out at ! I also canceled my trip north to pick up my new old boat, Good decision, better to look out at the palm trees than stuck in a snow drift in the Berkshires. * |

It's pictures like Keith's that compel me to go SOUTH to visit Louisiana in late March. We don't have as much snow, but that means there is less insulation and the ice on the lake gets thicker and therefore takes longer to melt. miro |
