Morris Marine Register

Hi all. I am trying to build a history of where the Morris Marine Engines may have got to and wondered if anyone could tell me about Morris Marine Motor units you have seen or have knowledge of outside of the UK. They were built from 1933 until 1972.
I am the founder and Editor of the Morris Marine Register and we have secured for owners the remaining original spares and gaskets.
Our longer term ambition is to build a complete collection of the whole range. Any info on engines that may be available would be appreciated. Robin

Am researching for a friend in Victoria Australia who is repairing an old morris marine engine side valve with magneto ignition. He particularly needs information on valve and ignition timing.
Number on block is 15560
Can we have you phone number so that he may talk with you as he does not have internet connection.

Bob Richardson.

I don't know anything about the Morris engines, but I do have a manual for "The Morris Commodore Mark II". It appears to be a six cylinder inline, 20/40HP. The manual does cover ignition, overhaul, etc. If that is the same as the model you are looking for let me know by email.

Regards,
Andrew

Philip,
There are quite a number still around in the UK.
Morris Vedette handbooks are similarly sometimes available. Try the "The Vintage Marine Engine Club" -Email: [email protected]
