Has anyone ever seen or heard of a Crest single cyl. 4 stroke marine engine. The name Crest Manufacturing Co, Cambridge Mass. is cast into the crank case. It has a copper clad water jacket and is a de dion bouton type engine with twin crank-flywheels inside the crankcase. It also has a very heavy external flywheel. The only reference I can find to the Crest Manufacturing Co. is the Crestmobile automobiles they built from 1901 to 1904, no reference to marine engines. I'd love to hear from anyone with any information about this engine or the Crest Manufacturing Co. |
