I recently purchased a 1948 Century from which the original engine was removed and replaced with a Gray Marine 6 cyl with single carb. There was little information supplied with the boat and no markings on the engine except for the plate on the transmission that reads "6-244 Express" Would appreciate info on horsepower, etc.

I have a Graymarine V8c-178B. It was last used in salt water, but I am rebuilding it and will only use it in fresh. My problem is, both cylinder heads and both exhaust manifolds are corroded through. I have not had much luck locating these parts. Someone said AMC engine parts will fit, how will I know what part numbers? Thanks, ken
