Albin 022 Reverse issues:
When I put the engine into Reverse, it goes forward for a few moments before it engages into reverse. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. And could it have to do with a slightly high idle.

Hello Buzz.

When you select reverse do you hear a clanking/clicking noize just before the reverse engages?
It might have something to do with the manouvering mechanism, it has 2 manouvering plungers inside.
The long one is for your main drive spring, the short one for your reverse.
These plungers wear during normal use, eventually they do not "grab" the reversing spring like they should do. If wear is your problem you can order new ones on albinmotor ( just google it ) or you could try welding on the worn bit with high grade steel if you know anyone who can TIG weld.
If your manouvering mechanism is not the problem, try finding someone who knows Albin reverse mechanisms. You can't adjust anything on the reverse from the outside. It will require dismantling the complete gear mechanism. And with no experience on gear mechanisms i wouldn't advise doing it yourself.

Good luck.

Regards Jack
