Hello All~ Just got my first antique inboard marine. I collect Associated hit & miss engines but I have always wanted a marine engine. I picked up an unknown 2-Cyl 2-Cycle. I don't see any tag or a place where a tag may have been. Hopefully one of you experts out there will recognize this one so I can begin searching for info on it. I thought it looked alot like a Red Wing, but there are subtle differences that say it isn't If any one out there has any idea what this engine is, I would love to hear from you!!!

Hello All~ This is going to be a good project. Both pistons are stuck, though I don't think rusted stuck. Both water jackets are cracked, but the jackets are not clogged (Whew!) The timer bracket is broken and timer is missing. It has the inlet for an oil dripper on th eintake manifold so I suppose this engine pre-dates 1911. It is definitely restorable and I plan to get her running. I have always been pretty fortunate with my hit & miss farm engine restorations not being plagued with these problems so I guess it is time I tackled an engine that needs some serious TLC!

Bill,
There are insturctions to make a buzz coil ingition system from off the shelf componets at the following link.
The timer on your engine is nothing more than a switch to turn the coil on and off. The cond is part of the coil.
Good luck and hope this helps
Ernie
