I have recently stripped my p5 and now want to rebuild it with new gaskets. Any ideas as to who might still be in business or how do I make up my own? This is in the UK so Antipodeam answers will be grtefully recieved but only because it means I'm not the only one on this planet (you can tell the starting problem has affected me). |

Hi everyone I have just purchased a Stuart Turner R3M marine engine number 41071, its complete with gas tank prop shaft and skeg etc. Can I find out when it dates from and if it is possible to get gaskets and possibly piston rings, seals etc. Its got a good spark from its Lucas mag and plenty of compression but hasn't run for a number of years! Thanks in anticipation! |

MartinR3M's with s/n 4000 -4231 were manufactured between May 1936 and Feb 1958.If your compression is good why do you need rings?.Some gaskets are available but the paper ones are easy to make Mike.H. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/stinfoexchange/ |

Hello, has anyone else had to source crankshaft seals for a P5? I've tried Marlex Marine but they've no stock of these. I'm also still looking for a P5 cylinder head gasket. I'd be very grateful for any pointers. Regards to all, Neil Critchley |

Borrowed this from another site:- "try John Cox at Cox & Turner (01425 652627). He will need bore size and groove depth and width" but there lots of suppliers around. Also try Cord rings, they have been operational all of my life. |

Hi Guys, I have a brass/bronze Handle in very good condition embossed with Ahead/Astern, this handle is from a Stuart Turner Marine engine R3M Gentlemans Launch, it has a spherical knob looks like made from bakerlite. I can email a picture of a complete engine showing the exact type of handle I have if required. I am looking for £20 plus £3.25 for first class postage. I am based on the Isle of Wight 07989758630 |

Hello ashley and welcome to the forum,i found myself in the same situation last year and found what i needed at MANOR TECHNOLOGY MONITORING LTD.the regulators they are producing are a fraction of the size of a standard regulator, they are electronic and very robust,Give them a ring or visit their website, talk to their director Micheal Hutchings and he will be more than happy to discuss your requirements. here are their details :- MANOR TECHNOLOGY MONITORING LTD. 7,OLDENBURG,WHITLEY FAREHAM HAMPSHIRE,PO15 7EJ UK. +44 (0)1489 880552 dvr@manortec.co.uk www.manortec.co.uk/dvr.htm hope find what you are looking for, regards steve. |

The standard regulators cannot be used on the dynastart because of the reversed field wiring. Best to replace with a 12v regulator from a VW beetle, and fit a standard starter solenoid. |

Hi Ashley, I can vouch for the Manor Tech regulators, specifically the DVR2-series regulator, as we use that with our Dynastart on our Stuart Turner. Thanks, Miah |
