The first engine is a 6 cyl Hicks I believe it was a 2 cycle engine.

let's see I can buy the 50 hp Hicks for $550 or two dead heavy 25 hp Standards for $2,000. 1907 must have been a very good year for Standard. I presume the Standards were super deluxe heavy duty commercial engines and the Hicks was a lightly built race engine.

Considering you could have bought a decent house (or two) for $2000. it must have been a Very Good Year.
Now what is a Palmer-Moore?

Palmer-Moore ads claimed them to be the first mfgr of an open base two cycle marine engine ?
I'll post this topic by itself for better later reference !
